Global Peace Festival in Malaysia
By Jane Moh
KUALA LUMPUR: The Global Peace Festival (GPF) is coming to Malaysia in October at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil.
Last week, the Universal Peace Federation held a 3-day volunteering Workshop at the 3rd Residential College of the University of Malaya. About 55 students participated in this workshop.
The goal of the workshop is to give participants a clearer idea of volunteerism, and to train them to be committed GPF volunteers.
According to Irene Chua Teng Teng, the master of ceremony for the workshop, the team is trying to promote GPF and make Malaysia a World Capital of Peace.
The GPF has been going around the world for the past few years. The last GPF was held in the United States just 3 weeks ago.
